CHILD STUDY CENTRE
Established 1997 The school is situated in the Dunbar Heights United Church. The facility is modern, spacious and bright. It includes a classroom equipped with a wide variety of high quality art and learning materials, children's library, a kitchen and an adjacent parent room. History of the school. High Calibre Teaching Staff One of the VCSC's greatest assets is its teachers. As well as being qualified early childhood educators, many have a Master's Degree in education. All are current in the First Aid "Child Safe" training. Our school is a much sought after site for practicum student placements from local colleges. Curriculum It is inspired by the thoughts, ideas, questions and theories of the children in the class. The teachers listen carefully and document the children’s ideas and questions. This documentation guides our curriculum.
Parents are encouraged to become involved in the VCSC activities, both through VCSCPS sponsored activities and through classroom involvement. Teachers hold individual conferences with the parents at the VCSC twice a year. Both parents are encouraged to attend. |

The
Vancouver Child Study Centre Preschool Society (VCSCPS) is
the governing body of the Vancouver Child Study Centre (VCSC).
Its executive is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting
and all parents with a child enrolled at the VCSC are
automatically members of the Society.
